‘Mollah’s execution tonight’

State Minister for Home Affairs Advocate Shamsul Haque Tuku on Tuesday categorically said Jamaat leader Quader Mollah, convicted in war crimes cases, would be executed in “tonight”.
The minister came up with the assertion while talking to journalists at the residence of State Minister for Law Advocate Quamrul Islam at Minto Road in the city in the evening. Meanwhile, the tight security measures were taken across the country. Earlier in the day, family members of Jamaat leader Abdul Quader Mollah, convicted in war crimes cases, visited him for the last on Tuesday evening. Hasan Jamil, son of Quader Mollah told banglanews that he along with other family members—his two brothers, two sisters, mother and maternal uncle—met him (Mollah) at Dhaka Central Jail around 7:00pm. “It would be the last meet with his father,” he earlier said. The authorities concerned of the jail them to see him within 8:00pm on Tuesday. Quader Mollah’s Counsel Shisir Mohammad Munir confirmed the matter to banglanews. Allude to Quader Mollah would be the first war crimes convicted who would walk in gallows for his involvement in crimes against humanity during Liberation War in 1971.
