Dhk-Ctg-Sylhet rail link restored

The rail communications on Dhaka-Chittagong-Sylhet routes have been restored after a 15-hour halt due to removal of fishplates of rail track by blockade supporters.
The rail services resumed around 12:40am and then Chittagong-bound Subarna Express departed from Kamlapur railway station. The other trains stranded at the station will leave for their destinations soon, said Station Master Motaleb Hossain. Akhaura Railway Thana Officer-in-Charge Saidul Islam told banglanews, “Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and police men were deployed in the area.” Earlier on Tuesday morning, the train services on Chittagong-Sylhet-Dhaka routed halted as miscreants uprooted the rail slipper and set on fire to some compartments of Chattala Express.
